Tasty, Healthy Turkey Burgers the Whole Family Will Love
I know, I promised I would add this to the blog yesterday, but I had my task master mother dictating decorating rituals all day…
Which by the way has turned out well… still a bit to do but it’s looking fab and I’ll be honest with you, I definitely have the stamina for exercise and healthy eating but decorating?…I’m not so sure.
I was ready to throw in the towel waaaayyyyy before it was complete. Super mum kept me motivated though (much like I do with my clients in the fitness arena)
She made me push on through the hate, the tough bits, the ‘I can’t do this’ moments until it was done…she’s got stamina that one.
Anyway, my plan was then to get straight on it early today and send you the recipe, but as you can tell it’s ended up being a little later than anticipated…
A poorly boy ended up creeping into my bed at 4am this morning and he really was poorly so I’ve had him to the docs first thing and then at home with me all day today.
In fact he’s still lying head in my lap as I type this on the sofa this evening…don’t worry I’m sitting posture perfect, no slouching to report here….
It’s sad when they’re sick isn’t it? But selfishly it does mean EXTRA cuddles….which I LOVE
Anyway, back to the yummy Turkey burgers I promised. Now, I’m not usually a burger fan, I’ll eat them occasionally to please the rest of my household as they love them, and seeing as they all eat ‘MY’ kind of food on a regular basis, I feel I should.
I even got my poorly son to try my cous cous salad at lunchtime today…
it started well but he soon gave in and we resorted to our usual broccoli soup and berry smoothie which is our ‘go to’ for when the kids have tonsillitis….
Anyway, again, back to the yummy Turkey Burgers I keep promising, they are super simple to make, healthy and the whole family will love them…well mine did so I hope yours do too.

RECIPE NOTES
Firstly, everyone else, except me, had a burger bun or half a burger bun with theirs. I don’t really like them.
Secondly, we actually cooked these burgers in a sous vide.
This is a new kitchen gadget we were bought last Christmas and it’s been an incredible addition to our cooking! I’ll do a full blog post on it soon, but in a nutshell:
The burgers we made here were actually placed in small sandwich bags with the air squeezed out and sealed and then immersed in the water in the sous vide (it’s essentially a heated water bath).
We cooked them at 67 degrees C for 60 minutes. When we take them out they are cooked through and we simply griddle for a couple of minutes each side until they have a little colour to them.
Enjoy …
