HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Bank holiday weekend is going by so fast, so far we’ve made the most of it spending lots of time outside in the beautiful sunshine eating delicious food with friends and family!
Saturday morning started like most weekends in our house with our family breakfast of eggs (& bacon for Kevin!).  The little ‘L’s look forward to their weekend breakfasts…we’d run out of bread so I had to have a bagel with mine :/

After eating, we quickly packed ourselves up and headed off to the beach to spend the weekend with my mum (nanma). We had plans to BBQ with our friends Charlotte and Derek, but last minute plan changes meant we BBQ’d at mums instead.  The weather was beautifiul so before anything else we scooted straight off to the beach to paddle and find shells 🙂

photo Auntie Maureen and Uncle Alastair came for the BBQ too, we had so much fun in the sunshine, food and drink was delicious.  My mum certainly puts on a decent healthy spread.  None of your normal BBQ fare (burgers and sausages!) we enjoyed steak, marinated chicken and plentiful brights salads, it was truly delicious (bonus Kir Royale just sneaking into the pic too!)

After putting the little ‘L’s to bed we turned up the music and enjoyed fun dancing in the garden!  Mum and her sister jived and I had a burpee ‘off’ with Alastair…it was hilarious!

Sunday started with a fast and effective indoor body weight workout with the little L’s running around me followed by smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.  A long walk was next on the agenda – to a variety of different play grounds and skate parks.  We even came across a superb outdoor fitness area with body weight exercise machines too.  I forgot my camera so no photos I’m afraid, but trust me it was fun, I must find one near home.

We had a late BBQ lunch in the garden, with a delicious raw Kale salad – I’ll find the recipe and add it in tomorrow.  Dessert was equally as delicious.

Right…off to meet Fireman Sam today followed by a run tonight.  See you Tomorrow.
