Less than 2 weeks to go to Run 4 Good

With two weeks to go don’t forget Run4Good
Sign up or donate, if you haven’t, you should

You run for fun and you run to keep fit
But kids Lucy and Harrison can’t run, they’re too sick

Two children living their life with disease
For a little help they’re asking you please

This day’s so important, lets have a great show
As Lucy’s the daughter of Run4Mum’s Jo.

5k, 10k or just a family day out
Put your hand in your pocket for any amount

Come on now and show them a little support
I won’t even yell if you decide to walk!!

In case you don’t know, Jo – who has been a regular at Run4Mum for fours years – is mum to her little girl Lucy, who is incredibly poorly with a rare gastrointestinal disease which means she can’t eat. Lucy is only 9 years old and over the last two years has spent most of her time at Great Ormond St hospital where she is hooked up to a special feeding device for 20 hours a day so she can be fed directly into her small intestine.
Despite all the heartache and pain she has gone through Lucy bravely remains upbeat and determined to help other children suffering from the same, and similar diseases. Instead of asking ‘why me?’ Lucy has set up a charity ‘Little Stars Shine’ in the hope she can raise enough money to write an informative booklet for other children with the same feeding device.
We want to help her reach her goal and give her ‘HOPE’. www.littlestarsshine.com

By taking part, donating or coming along on the day you will not only be helping Lucy but also another boy, whose story is as heartbreaking as Lucy’s.
Harrison – whose devoted parents describe hims as a ‘cheeky little man’ – will likely die before he reaches 20. He suffers from Duchenne, a disease which sees his muscles deteriorating at an alarming rate. His family received the devastating diagnosis just two years ago and are now fighting to stop the disease or at least slow it down before it dims the twinkle in their son’s eyes. www.harrisonsfund.com

Both children deserve a little help and just one day out of our schedules would make a world of difference for Lucy and Harrison.
