Five Friday Favourites
I can’t believe it’s Friday already!
Time is flying by…
What are your weekend plans?
We’re back in Somerset
for another gorgeous weekend
at
Walters Farm.
This trip
the hens are incubating a few eggs
so next time we may see little chicks!
Tractor rides,
egg collecting
& picking fresh veg
are already on the menu…
Talking of fresh veggies
let’s get cracking on the things we are loving this week…
First up…
Fresh Asparagus
We had a bunch full last night picked fresh from the garden
and it was delicious!
It’s in season, but not for much longer…
Go grab some British Asparagus – it’s full of fibre, folate, vitamins A,C, E & K as well as Chromium.
Packed full of antioxidants
apparently it helps slow the ageing process…
give me some more!!!
Fresh perpetual Spinach is on the menu tonight
from the garden again
then
roasted Rhubarb with homemade mango and coconut ice cream
I feel spoilt 🙂
Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day
Click the link above to go to the website and sign his petition.
Jamie is on a mission…
Worldwide there are more than 42 million children under the age of five who are overweight or obese.
Children today are the first generation predicted to live shorter lives than their parents.
Pretty bad stats.
So Jamie is asking you to sign a petition to support
compulsory practical food education in schools across the world.
Click the link above to sign the petition and arm our future generations
with the life skills they need to lead healthier, happier, more productive lives.
Oh and Ed Sheeran wrote him a tune…

Exercise of the week
One arm row
Using a chair, put your left knee on the chair
lean forward and place your left hand on the edge of the chair
Pick up a weight in your right hand
slowly bend your elbow, slide your shoulder blade in towards your spine
and bring the weight up to your
chest.
Return to start position and repeat.
pick a weight heavy enough to fatigue by 20 reps
Great exercise for good posture 🙂
My favourite quote this week
