Do what you do best and link to the rest

Hello Monday

Well hello Monday and hello again gorgeous sunshine.

Another weekend successfully celebrated…we had a cracker did you?  Lots of activity and fun parties with friends for us…

It was as chaotic as usual, fitting everything in, but it all came together in the end,

somehow.

Mid Saturday afternoon, a few hours before we were due to go to a party
sans enfants,
I had one of those “S*I&, what shall I wear” moments…

I didn’t panic I just thought, who knows best?

Ages ago my hubby told me about a saying he’s heard from the owners of Google

“Do what you do best and link to the rest”

I’m not saying I’m the best Mum in the world, but in my life, it is one of the best things I do. I LOVE it more than anything else and weekends are my busiest period so shopping is far from easy...

I’m also a health & fitness expert, I’ve spent years learning & teaching that stuff but that doesn’t help with party wear…

Fashion, I do LOVE
but I’m no expert.

Step forward stylists…& the beauty of social media AND the internet.

Whilst waiting for dance class to finish, I had a little time for a super quick flick through my favourite, fashion, instagram feeds & I found what I wanted via the girls at www.wearetwinset.com and their latest, Return of the Red Dress post

One quick call to M&S, reservation made and I picked it up.

No word of a lie, within 45 minutes I had the perfect dress sat in my wardrobe ready to go to my party THAT NIGHT.

How cool is that?

The dress was perfect, inexpensive and the whole process was SO easy, I felt accomplished.

I forgot to get a pic of me in it…so here it is on the model…

Despite the mayhem that a Saturday morning entails, I managed to shop and get a dress for a party without even having to take time to browse, try umpteen things on and get stressed by those awful changing room mirrors…
(is it the lighting or what? they’re ridiculously unforgiving aren’t they?)

Anyway, that’s how your fitness and health can be too.

It doesn’t need to be complicated, you don’t need to overthink it, you really can achieve stuff without having to traipse to gyms or classes and the internet can be helpful at times, look here for starters!

It’s as simple as, eat well, exercise/be active a little each day, sleep enough and repeat forever.

Unlike dress shopping though, don’t leave it to the last minute to look after your health and fitness, quickly trying to lose a few pounds before your summer holiday, cheating the scales on weigh in day or thinking a week of healthy eating will lower your cholesterol, that really isn’t the answer

Keep on top of the advice that’s there for you & action it all year round.

Don’t be about tomorrows, summers or Mondays…don’t leave your health to the last minute or put it off for another day.

Start today & do it everyday

Even when life is chaotic and you think you can’t get it all done… keep trying… there’s always a little something you can do

and
I promise, if you just keep going, it will all come together in the end.
