The Power of Planning
I’m a dreadful planner.
No, no, not dreadful at it…I LOVE it…
I may well be classed as a little obsessive when it comes to planning actually, most things in my life focus around some kind of plan.
No seriously, I have a :
cleaning plan
menu plan
fitness plan
the children have a ‘schedule’ type of plan,
work plan
holiday plan
(there are more plans but I won’t bore you now…)
sounds awful right?
Actually it’s not that bad. I like getting stuff done, I get a sense of satisfaction when it’s all clean and tidy at home
and no-one cleans my house like I do.
I like not having to think each day about what to cook…or go out and buy it
So each week I plan it all out.
I have little routines for each day.
I get the stuff done that needs to be done
so that I can make time to do the things that I love.
The way I see it, each and every day is a mini picture of our life
and
it’s the little things we do each and every day in our lives that define what our life stands for.
For me it’s making time to
exercise everyday because it makes me feel great.
I don’t like a messy house, so I clean it a little each day, it makes me happy.
I’m not good and making healthy meals spontaneously, so my weekly plan helps me eat well and feel good.
I love my work, but I love my family more, so although I work everyday,
everything is planned for and around them,
that bit of my life is non-negotiable these days.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard to juggle it all, of course it is, life gets in the way sometimes.
But in order for me to be able to do the things that are the most important to me, as well as the things that are necessary, I’ve gotta have a plan.
Now I’m not saying that you should have a plan for every aspect of your life, but when it comes to health and fitness – daily rituals, and consistency are the key to success.
Life moves fast, days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months and then before you know it a year has flown by again and you are still not doing that workout programme you promised yourself you’d try or eating the healthy diet you said you would.
True though isn’t it?
We’re good at talking about what we want in life, how often do we go out there and get it?
Don’t let another day go by without doing what you want in your life – everyday.
What you do today is shaping who you are and what your future holds…
So get organised.
What matters to you the most? What do you want to spend most of your time doing?
Make your plan right now and tomorrow you will be doing more of what matters to you.
You’ll see. When you commit to doing more of what you love everyday, and keep doing it and doing it and doing it, you’ll start living the life you want and love.
Come on, don’t just talk about it, BE IT.
I’ll see you tomorrow
Melissa
