homemade granola healthy snack

This is the tastiest homemade granola ever!  Not just great for breakfast with yoghurt and fresh fruit or alternatively served just with semi skimmed milk, it’s also a great healthy snack or a crunchy yoghurt topper!


2 Cups Porridge Oats
1/4 cup brown sugar, maple syrup or honey
1/4 cup rapeseed oil & water (half and half mixed together)

Optional Extras:
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 cup raisins, cranberries or any dried fruit
1/2 cup sunflower, sesame or pumpkin seeds (or mix them all in)
1/2 cup almonds or hazelnuts (or both!)

Make it…

Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Mix oats, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl
Mix oil, water and vanilla and add to the oats
Spread in a large baking tin
Bake for 10 minutes, stir and then bake for another 10 minutes
While still hot, stir in extra fruit, nuts and seeds
Cool and serve.
