Triathlon Fever

The sky was clear & blue when I crept out of the house this morning at 7am for work.  Just perfect for a run which I completed with my client who runs at a pace not far off my own.  We headed off along the River Tow path between Weybridge & Walton on Thames, which was beautiful this morning.  A quick 3.5 miles done (took us 30 mins)  in the early morning sun and we were back for a core strength circuit.  (I didn’t do this bit, I’m there to coach!)photo

I needed a quick breakfast on the go, so I grabbed a handful of raspberries and almonds to eat in the car on my way to work

and made myself a Nespresso vanilla latte in my favourite new to the neighbourhood take out cup!

BREAKFAST
Breakfast when I got back home was a bowl of Jordans Natural Muesli & I added a few extra dried cranberries, blueberries & raisins and topped it with a few flaked almonds to give it some extra crunch! (Oh, and another homemade Nespresso vanilla latte)

WORKOUT
After spending some time reading and sticking with the little L’s I put the TV on for them for 20 mins (which I think is OK isn’t it?!) so I could finish up my workout for today…..it was a quick one 🙂  I’m doing a triathlon on Monday next week and I haven’t managed as much sports specific training as I’d have liked, so I did a quick “triathlon strength & core workout” which I hope mimics the mechanics of the swim, bike, run…..it felt great.

Before lunch we headed into town to check out the local bike store, Pure Motion Cycles, we are thinking of getting the little L’s bikes for the summer, (triathlon fever is taking over the whole family!) so I thought I’d take them to check a few out.
My two are so little though, the bike for their age was massive!  I don’t know whether to purchase a balance bike or go ahead and get full ‘pedal’ bike :/ bloomin’ pricey though, especially when you have to get two at once…
I didn’t decide, but came away with two excited little people ready to ride 🙂

LUNCH

Lunch today was a quick bowl of tasty Italian bean soup from the Waitrose love life range with a slice of Soya & Linseed Burgen Bread as we had to rush off to our weekly swimming lessons at the Surrey Sports Park.  I usually make my own soups, but I have say, for a quick option this was delicious!
