Hello and thank you for visiting Fit 4 Mum!
I’m Melissa, a degree qualified Sport & Exercise Scientist, Personal Fitness Trainer and Pre and Post Natal Exercise Specialist. I love fitness and everything that goes with it, always have. I think being brought up by a professional footballer as a Dad made it kind of compulsory to participate in sport of some kind! I tried my hand at many things in childhood but by the age of 18 I realised I wanted to study the science of exercise to help the general population become more active. So I did and have worked to promote exercise ever since.
My personal goal in life is to live the healthiest, most active, fun life that I possibly can whilst inspiring, assisting and advising as many other people as possible to benefit from this incredible way of life as much as I and my family do.
Fit 4 Mum was brought to life back in July 2007 as way of helping mums and mums to be in my local area participate in outdoor fitness classes. I loved it then and I still love it now.
Over the years, a few things have changed. I’m a little older, slightly wiser (some may argue!) and a full time Mum of Twins…. Not only that but since I started on this journey technology and how health and fitness messages are delivered have changed and with the addition of so many social platforms it’s a lot easier to get information about healthy living out to more people.
So that’s my new and improved goal. To help, advise and motivate more of you.
And so, via this blog, my classes and my other social endeavours I hope to inspire you to eat well, move more and stay positive.
Within the pages of this site I hope you find some fun workouts to suit you, healthy recipes for your family, a few motivational quotes to pump you up and a few of my own (and my families) personal fitness anecdotes thrown in for good measure.
