Everday is a new start

What was that weather about today?
Did you get the hail storm?
They were the size of golf balls where I live!

My children
thought it was hilarious…

We had planned a little
trip to
“fun in the foam”
in Leatherhead this afternoon
(if you haven’t taken your under 4’s, give it a go,
mine love it & run about like crazy loonies getting themselves  so tired out there’s no bedtime fuss!)

but when
we saw the hailstorm,
thunder
&
lightening,
we very nearly didn’t leave the house.

Well…
I was contemplating not going
but while I was doing that
the little L’s had snuck out,
donned their wellies
and were dancing in the rain!

We did go.
No storm was going to stop my two.

They showed me.

You can’t let small changes in the weather
stop you Mum
(they didn’t actually say that, but you know..)

Funny though isn’t it?

While I was looking at the storm
and thinking
‘roads will be awful’
‘lightening’s a bit dangerous!’

they were thinking
‘fun’
‘hilarious puddle jumping’
‘wow look at the stones falling from the sky’

They saw opportunity
and fun
where
I saw
a set back to our plans.

As I watched them I
changed my view from
set back to
opportunity.

Opportunity to have fun,
and to just do it…
go out there and
do it anyway
despite the weather…

I know today was only a few
hailstones for me
and I was being a wuss…
but

If you are faced with a challenge
or
a set back
from your plan
whatever it may be
health
work
life,

look upon it as a new opportunity
and go out
and
achieve
more.

Everyday is a new start.

Take small steps,

it’s about progress
not perfection.

If you slip up
be kind to yourself
there’s always another day.

Oh and if there is one more thing
children are good at reminding you of
it’s to find the funny side of things.

Laugh out loud
as
a day without laughter
is a day wasted.
